Frequently Asked Questions
What types of furniture do you specialize in?
Sit Refreshed Upholstery is a boutique, solo artisan studio focusing strictly on small-format residential furniture. We specialize in:
Dining room chair seats and backs
Accent chairs, armchairs, and slipper chairs
Benches, ottomans, and footstools
Note: To maintain workshop efficiency and quality, we do not accept large-scale pieces like sectionals, sofas, recliners, or automotive/marine upholstery.
How do I get a free estimate?
Getting a quote is simple and entirely digital! Head to our [Contact Page] and send us:
Clear photos of your furniture piece (front, back, and side).
Approximate dimensions (height, width, and depth).
Your design goals (e.g., simple fabric swap, new cushion foam, or structural frame tightening).
What is your current turnaround time?
Because we are a solo artisan shop dedicated to precision craftsmanship, we do not rush our process. Once your furniture piece officially enters our studio, our average turnaround time is 3 to 4 weeks. We schedule projects in dedicated monthly blocks so your furniture spends the minimum amount of time away from your home.
Do you offer pick-up and delivery?
Yes! If you do not have a vehicle large enough to transport your furniture, we offer a flat-rate $75 concierge pick-up and delivery service within the greater Winston-Salem area. Alternatively, you are always welcome to drop off and pick up your items at our home studio by pre-scheduled appointment.
Can I provide my own fabric?
Yes, you can bring your own fabric (COM). However, a flat $25 Customer’s Own Material fee applies per project to cover the extra time required for inspection and handling. We also highly recommend reviewing our "How to Shop for Fabric" guide before purchasing, as we cannot work with lightweight clothing, quilting, or drapery materials.
Can you help me find and buy fabric?
Absolutely! We offer a curated selection of heavy-duty, professional upholstery fabrics sold directly through our studio. We can also direct you to our favorite local Winston-Salem and High Point textile suppliers to browse patterns in person, ensuring you select a fabric that structurally fits your piece.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. To secure your slot in our production calendar and order any necessary fabrics or custom foam, we require a 50% non-refundable upfront deposit. The remaining 50% balance is due strictly upon completion when you receive your refreshed furniture.
What happens if my furniture frame is broken inside?
Because frames are completely hidden beneath old fabric and padding, we cannot fully evaluate structural integrity until the "tear-down" phase. If we uncover hidden damage (like cracked wood or broken dowels), we will immediately pause and send you photos. You can then choose to pay a pre-approved frame repair fee or have it referred to a local woodworking specialist.
